The Individual Self-Study Program is a miniature version of the Complete Spanish Classroom Program, designed to stimulate different learning styles by using a multimedia, multi-sensory approach. For instance, instead of large posters, children can view the smaller illustrations in their book. The matching domino cards can also be used as mini-flashcard pictures (1") to play other games as well as to build picture sentences using the mini-conjugation cards. A Parent Guide is included.

Student Book with Interactive CD-ROM & Skits DVD
Is an audiovisual, colorful presentation of vocabulary, simple grammar concepts and picture sentences to help children learn at their own pace. For each Vocabulary Unit there is a song with lyrics, pictures in the same order as the song, frequently used Q&A, and a Skit. A cultural point is presented at the end of each chapter. The Interactive CD-ROM is the voice of the book divided into five areas: Pronunciation, Songs, Vocabulary, Q&A, and Conjugations. Are another way to reinforce at home what students are learning in school. There are 4 different B&W workbooks with perforated sheets. They are copyrighted and one set is included to review and order them separately for students. Each covers 2 of the 8 chapters in the Student Book. They include song lyrics, vocabulary lists, five different activities to practice vocabulary, skits and Q&A. Each one has 40 cognate pictures on the back cover.

Music has proven to be one of the most powerful tools for introducing, reinforcing and accelerating learning of a foreign language. American Sign Language offers signs that are easy to relate to words. Children can connect words to hand signs and learn vocabulary faster. These songs can also be rehearsed with the Music CD, the interactive CD-ROM line-by-line feature, and by looking at the pictures in the Student Book or Classroom Posters.
Can be used in the class for group activities, or at home to reinforce vocabulary, questions and answers and verb conjugations. The Domino is a simple matching game of pictures to words. These pictures are the same throughout the program. They can also be used as flashcards to play other games or form picture sentences in the present, past and future with the Mini Conjugation Cards. The Question and Answer Cards can be folded in half to practice conversation skills with the vocabulary learned in each unit.

These are beautiful illustrations of words that have the same origin in Spanish and English. They are very easy vocabulary words for young children to learn. They can be used with older students to practice their pronunciation skills. The audio CD offers the pronunciation of these words divided into 14 different categories. Advanced students can build sentences using their mini-conjugation cards or use them along with their Q&A.
Thank you for developing such a teacher friendly curriculum. It is greatly needed! This has been an outstanding program for our school. The students love the songs and can remember years after learning them. The games are fun and the colorful posters are attractive. I love teaching with this program and being able to use it with multiple age groups. We have used it for 3rd-8th grade the last two years and next year we are expanding our program to include the Kindergarten- 8th grades. Our parents often comment on how their children enjoy singing and learning the new vocabulary. It is very easy to use and offers beginning to advanced skills in Spanish in a fun way. We have been using your Spanish language program "Risas y Sonrisas" for four years now at Steiner Ranch Elementary. All of our Spanish teacher volunteers are very pleased with the versatility of the materials. At our school we teach grades kindergarten through fifth grades. We are able to teach all the grade levels using the same materials. We are also able to mix and match the various subjects with each other. The teachers are also happy with the variety of subject materials provided. The elementary Spanish program has been so successful that this year Leander ISD has a total of seven elementary schools participating using the "Risas y Sonrisas" Spanish program. Thank you for putting together one of the best elementary Spanish language programs we have looked at so far.
